In summer 2021, I traveled to Costa Rica to explore environmental restoration through a performative documentary. Filmed in the village of La Gamba and produced in 2023, Learning from the Tropics follows my journey into the heart of Refugio Tinti, a community dedicated to sustainable living.
The film highlights the work of Esteban, Max, and Mauricio, who practice permaculture and innovative methods like Biochar and hot composting. Through my lens, their efforts become a powerful testament to regeneration, resilience, and the beauty of living in harmony with nature.
